Ultra Echo Scan (UES) project is the winner of the Mother and Child Startup Challenge 2024!

It is a great honor and satisfaction for us. The competition is the most important event in Poland dedicated to startups from the medical industry. This prestigious award is very important for our team! It is a confirmation that the work we have done over the past few years made sense and was necessary.

What is Ultra Echo Scan (UES)? It is a set of algorithms designed to detect congenital heart defects in newborns. How does UES work? A specialist doctor or midwife records echocardiogram projections of the newborn’s heart. Based on the results of the examination, the algorithm indicates – or not – the presence or absence of congenital heart defects. The system complements screening tests that focus only on critical CHDs detected by an imperfect pulse oximeter. Leading scientists in the field of medicine and artificial intelligence are involved in the project.

The Mother and Child Startup Challenge has been organized since 2022. The project focuses on supporting innovative medical startups related primarily to the areas of pediatrics, gynecology and obstetrics. The Mother and Child Startup Challenge was created to open the doors of hospitals to modern technologies and promote cooperation between startups and medical facilities.

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Medical Technology Innovation of the Institute of Mother and Child is responsible for organizing the competition.
